Age before beauty? Think again!!

Dame Helen Mirren looks absolutely breathtaking in this gorgeous red Dolce & Gabbana and Chopard Jewellery dress on the red carpet at the Golden Globes 2015. At the age of 69, she still looks impeccable. Who says you can’t still look sexy and glamorous after the age of 30? This is a perfect example of growing old in style. Has anyone seen the documentary Advanced Style? If you haven’t then you need to. It’s a documentary about these stylish older ladies living in New York; the film showcases their lives, styles and view on life and fashion.

Anyway back to Dame Helen: the floor length gown fits her body to a T on her hourglass figure. The dress is perfectly fitted around her body, exaggerating her curves and the floor-sweeping length of the dress elongates her 5,4" frame, making her appear taller than she actually is. The neckline of the dress is not quite "V" neck, and gives a slimming effect to her large bust. I believe she also has an elegant neckline, which is essential with the length of her hair, which is a sexy short bob, but with a Marilyn Monroe twist. This dress is so well fitted you could almost think it was made to measure. The detail of the neckline on the dress, along with the choice of long jewelled earrings, complement the overall look and no further accessories needed. As a person who always thinks more is more when needed, I would definitely agree that in this case less is more.
